'Méru: Beacon of Light' Anthology Showcases Arunachal Pradesh's Rich Literary Diversity

At a recent event held at the JNC Conference Hall, celebrated author and President of the Arunachal Pradesh Literary Society (APLS), YD Thongchi, unveiled Méru: Beacon of Light, a significant anthology published by the East Siang chapter of APLS (ESAPLS). The anthology presents a rich variety of poems, short stories, essays, and articles, showcasing works in Adi, Hindi, and English.
Thongchi commended ESAPLS President Ponung Ering Angu and General Secretary Dr. Ing Perme for their efforts to foster young writers and preserve the cultural heritage of Arunachal Pradesh. He also urged aspiring authors to hone their skills through persistent writing and avid reading.
Dr. Leki Sitang, Vice-Principal of JNC and guest of honor at the event, highlighted the crucial role of literature in preserving oral traditions and engaging future generations. Contributing authors such as Manjulata, Omily Borang, Miti Perme, and Kayin Borang presented readings from the anthology.
The event attracted notable figures, including Group Captain Mohonto Panging Pao VM (Retd.), Bodong Yirang, Tokong Pertin, and Dr. Kaling Dai, along with other esteemed writers and educators.
